Renner Academy
Mission & Values
Renner Academy takes a comprehensive approach to guiding diverse learners to capitalize on their strengths and overcome their weaknesses to reach their fullest potential as 21st Century learners, thinkers, and leaders.
While we place great emphasis on providing superior instruction and dyslexia intervention, we believe celebrating and building upon children’s strengths, facilitating ample social-emotional learning opportunities, and educating those that play a large role in the lives of children with dyslexia is just as important. Renner Academy aspires to spark changes in the way children with dyslexia and other learning differences are regarded and educated in our country, by beginning in our local community.
Core Values
- Our ultimate goal at Renner Academy is to create lifelong learners that are equipped with the skills and tools needed to thrive in the fast-paced, ever-evolving 21st century.
- “Dyslexia is a weakness in a sea of strengths.” -Dr. Sally Shaywitz
- “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” -Maya Angelou
- Children are generally doing the best they can with the tools they have. Negative behaviors are often indicators of areas of need.
- If an approach doesn’t work, we must find a different approach.
- Learning is a journey, not a destination.
- “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” – Nelson Mandela
